    Here are all the pages you need to record your inventory and get useful reports. You can get by with just the Home Inventory and Add Asset pages, but the other pages will simplify the process and add useful reports.

    Here are all the steps you take to record your inventory and use the results. You can click here to expand all topics below for easier printing.

    KEY TERM:  ASSET

    ASSET  An "asset" is anything you own. When you purchase a product, it becomes your asset. The term "assets" means roughly the same thing as "inventory".

    1. Record Existing Assets

    Use this page the first time you record your inventory:

    • Home Inventory

      You can use the Home Inventory < page to add many assets at once. This page helps you add assets by location. First specify a location, then load each asset using the "Add New Asset" panel at the bottom of the page. It also provides a printable worksheet you can use to manually record your assets.

      You can print the report when you're done, though MakeLifeEasy keeps a secure copy in two locations.

    2. Record New Purchases

    Use these page when you purchase new assets:

    • Add An Asset

      You can use the Add an Asset < page to add a new asset.


    • Load Receipts

      You can use the Receipts < page to add more than one new asset from the same shopping trip. It's just a little quicker. You can open this page by clicking the link at the top of the "Add an Asset" page (or click the "<" after "Receipts" above.)

    3. Make a Claim

    Use these pages if you must make an insurance claim:

    • Total Asset Values

      You can use the Total Asset Values < report to get a summary of your asset values. Clicking on any location link will display all the assets at that location.


    • Home Inventory (same as above)

    4. Get Freedom and Cash

    Use this page when you want to find ways to get cash:

    Other Pages and Commands You May Find Useful

    • Asset Properties

      To display the Asset Properties page, you must find an asset in a list (like the home inventory list) Then, to display the page, either click on the asset name, or click "Show details..." on the Asset Actions menu next to the asset name.


    • Search Assets

      The Search Assets < page lets you quickly find an asset by name.


    • Set Basic Data

      The basic data pages let you to manage your lists of locations, users, purposes, buyers, and sellers.


    • Options

      The Options page lets you configure the application with your preferences. NOTE: The only sections that apply for this mini-application are "Membership" and "Emails".


    • Switch to Full Mode

      This Home Inventory Mini-Application is a "light" version of the complete MakeLifeEasy application. It contains only home inventory functions. You can switch to the full application using this menu command. Read more at The MakeLifeEasy Mini-Applications.
